Young Australian males are twice as likely to die under all circumstances compared to young females, a new study reveals. Researchers at Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) found that the overall death rate among males under 24 years of age was 52 deaths per 100,000 compared to 30 deaths per 100,000 among females. The life expectancy of baby boys born in 2009-2011 is 79.7 years compared to 84.2 years for girls born during the same period. ...
