Stanford University Researchers Develop a 'Transcriptor' Using Genetic Material

Researchers at Stanford University have developed a new biological transistor, which they call the 'transcriptor', which makes use of genetic material, such as DNA and RNA, instead of gears or electrons., a new study published in the journal Science reveals "Transcriptors are the key component behind amplifying genetic logic - akin to the transistor and electronics," said Jerome Bonnet, PhD, a postdoctoral scholar in bioengineering and the paper's lead author.
