Benign and Malignant Prostate Cancer can be Distinguished With Help of Multispectral Photoacoustic Imaging

A new study reveals that using multispectral photoacoustic imaging, a combination of laser optics and ultrasound imaging technologies, can help distinguish benign and malignant prostate tissue. Researchers at the University of Rochester looked at 42 prostatectomy specimens using the new imaging technique.
