SPA OF THE MONTH: Dormy House, Broadway, Worcestershire
With a backdrop of the rolling Cotswold countryside and views over the Vale of Evesham, Dormy House makes for a perfect escape. The 17th century farmhouse recently went under a multi-million renovation to create the perfect blend of cosy and contemporary. From the Hunter wellington boots lining the steps outside the entrance, board games and roaring fireplaces – you’ll appreciate every little luxury detail. The bedrooms, with fresh flowers, Nespresso machines and homemade biscuits, cloud-like beds, and seriously charming décor complete the experience. Make the most of your rural setting with country walks or hiring a bike - there are also plenty of quaint market towns dotted nearby for you to explore!
THE SPA
Named as one of the top five spas in the UK by the Good Spa Guide, House Spa bridges the gap between informal-meets-luxury. With a Salt Infusion Steam Room, Drench Showers, a Lavender Sauna, a Juniper Finnish Sauna, a Garden Hydro Pool, a Veuve Clicquot and Butter London Nail Parlour, an indoor infinity pool, two gyms, including personal training, and a range of pampering treats, you’re spoilt for choice. After a personal training session we opted for the 60-minute Deep Massage, £85, using a combination of warm oils, with targeted deep tissue massage it got rid of any tension and left us in a jelly-like state for the rest of the afternoon…
THE FOOD
It may be a smaller, boutique hotel but Dormy House offers up three dining options. For a more formal dining experience, you can opt for The Garden Room Restaurant, where Head Chef Paul Napper creates locally sourced menus. Go healthy in The Greenhouse with nutritious meal options, including raw-food. Or, do as we did, and head to The Potting Shed, with its gastro-pub vibe, the excellently executed comfort food and comprehensive wine list hit the spot.
