Proteins That Turn DNA Repair Mechanism into a Harmful Process Identified by TSRI Researchers

Researchers led by those at The Scripps Research Institute (TSRI) have identified some of the key proteins that cause one of the DNA repair mechanisms to turn into a harmful process for the body. The focus of the new study, published in the May 22, 2014 edition of the journal iCell Reports/i, is a protein called Ring1b.
