After Cancer, Diabetes Drug may Not Improve Survival Rates

Despite previous scientific studies that suggest diabetes drug metformin has anti-cancer properties, a new study has found that the drug may not improve survival rates after breast cancer. The study took place at Women's College Hospital and was published in the journal iDiabetes Care/i, failed to show an improved survival rate in older breast cancer patients with diabetes taking the drug metformin, a first-line treatment for diabetes.
