Gattex, a New Medicine for Short Bowel Syndrome Has Been Approved by the FDA.

Gattex (teduglutide) has received the approval by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration as a good form of treatment for nutritional problems caused by short bowel syndrome, which occurs after the small and/or large intestine is surgically removed. This injection is used to help improve intestinal absorption and is administered once a day.
