Diabetic Children With High Blood Sugar Have Slower Brain Growth

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) in children suffering from type 1 diabetes (T1D) is linked to changes in brain growth, according a new study conducted at Nemours Children's Clinic in Jacksonville, Fla. Young children with T1D have slower overall and regional growth of gray and white matter compared to children without diabetes.
