Stem Cells Derived Without Using Viruses Able to Repair Retinal Tissue in Mice

Researchers at Johns Hopkins reveal that they have managed to develop human induced-pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) that are able to repair damaged retinal vascular tissue in mice, without making conventional use of viruses in order to growth the stem cells, which were derived from human umbilical cord-blood and coaxed into an embryonic-like state.
